Fashion Forward : Cosas Oscuras Editorial

CONTRA cofounders Joseph Gordon Cleveland and Brigid Nastasia bring you an exclusive behind-the-scenes look into the makings of  their  Fall ’11 editorial shoot, Cosas Oscuras. We also catch up with photographer Conor Doherty, hairstylist AJ Maude and makeup artist Vlad Benedetti,  and get an up-close-and-personal look at the models in action–all straight from the set.

Inspired by Pablo Neruda’s dark, dreamy love poems, Cosas Oscuras is a decidedly different take on the season’s lighthearted arc of classic sportswear. The focus? Streamlined silhouettes that are monochromatic, modern and effortlessly wearable. From Christian Siriano’s diaphanous cocktail dress to the striking, sculpted leather bodice of Comme des Garçons’ capelet, these are investment pieces with both statement and staying power.
