This week’s "Fashion Forward" brings you an exclusive interview with famed designer Carmen Marc Valvo about the runway presentation of his Fall 2010 looks, Boston, and why Ovations for the Cure of Ovarian Cancer is a cause dear to his heart.
The collection, inspired by the rich reds, jades and black of old intrigue and espionage films, was paired with his new Fur line and presented at the W Boston. Host, Yolanda Celluci presented the Yolanda Celluci Award to Marilyn Riseman.
The night was a tremendous success – Valvo said, “as a designer, I love creating fashion but, sometimes it becomes very, very shallow.” With a show like this benefitting a great cause, he said, “It’s really important to get [[the]] message across.”
Melanie Platten is wearing Elie Tahari's "Capri" embellished shoulder dress in black and the "Vivian" crystal bib necklace, also from Elie Tahari.
